Mommy can hardly believe you are one year old. This past month has been like a year of changes all by itself. Every day you are doing something new, saying new words, and somehow still manage to make our lives just a little bit brighter. Since we moved into our new home you have really developed a great daily routine which definitely helps you be the happy, sweet baby girl that you are.
You have been sleeping in your own room for about 6 months now, although you do usually end up in bed next to mommy for a small period of time to nurse at night time. You and mommy have a very special bond when you nurse and I don’t think it’s one either of us are quite ready to part with just yet.
Since I last wrote you have reached quite a few big milestones, and mommy and daddy couldn’t be more proud. On September 10th, 2013 your first tooth officially broke through. Not to long after, on the 17th you attempted to say your first word, Dada, although we are not sure you really knew what you were saying. On October 6th, 2013 mommy helped you find the edge of your playpen where you stood for the very first time all by yourself. It was for a very short time, but you did it baby girl!
Your first Thanksgiving you ate a full dinner with the family. It was our first in our new home and you loved everything we offered you. That same night you decided to crawl for the first time. You have gotten around using an army crawl until just this past month when you decided to get on your hands and knees. On December 7th, the very special day mommy and daddy first fell in love, you officially said your first word, kitty! We have three kitties that you get so excited to see every time they walk by.
This past month or two have really been big for you my angel. On January 10th, 2014 you first pulled yourself up all by yourself in your crib, now you are so close to walking on your own. Every day you learn something new, and it has been so exciting to be a part of. On February 13th, 2014 mommy asked you where your nose is, to which you pointed with a giggle.
Your favorite show is Little Einsteins and you love nothing more than to dance to all kinds of music. You wiggle your hips and move your arms. You sing “E-I-E-I-OH!” and babble all the time. We have great conversations about nothing and play silly games just about every moment we’re together.
On February 6th, 2014 your Nana baked you a cake for your birthday. Mommy decorated it and we had so much fun dressing you up and letting you dive into the delicious chocolate cake while I took photos. The following Saturday, the 8th, you were surrounded by so many friends and family members to celebrate you turning one. Your party theme was Winter ONEderland.
I hope some day you will read these letters and love them as much as I love writing them to you. There are truly no words to describe how much we love you and just how special you are. Your personality shines through a little bit more every day and the best part of my life is getting to know you my angel.
